DEI Task Force

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Task Force

Important: The GLOBE DEI Task Force has transitioned into the GLOBE Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility (DEIA) Working group. For all current information related to DEIA at GLOBE, check out the GLOBE DEIA Working Group page.

With the support of GLOBE Program Sponsors from NASA and NSF, in the fall of 2019 the GLOBE DEI Task Force was formed with the goal of creating a GLOBE statement and implementation plan on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. In February 2020 the group met in Boulder, Colorado for a DEI workshop, and to begin working on these statements. This group has met monthly ever since to collaboratively produce the statements shown below. These statements and action plan were presented to the GLOBE Community at the 2020 Virtual Meeting. A recording of this presentation can be found on GLOBE's Annual Meeting videos page

null SAINT BENOIT SCHOOL IS ON BOARD WITH GLOBE-CHAD

In this initial phase after the program’s reactivation, GLOBE-Chad had paid a visit to Mr. Nediglembaye Etienne, the director of Saint Benoit school on June 30th, 2024.

This work meeting’s goal was to introduce the GLOBE program to the school authorities and present our activities in perspective.

After long discussions of questions and answers, the school’s director expressed his full support to the GLOBE program’s agenda that is already in ligne with the school’s academic science initiatives. While the bilingual school is still in an inceptive period of their science program, GLOBE-Chad had offered to bring its resources to the school’s team in order to maximize mutual gain.

GLOBE’s program encourages practical activities through data collection and analysis. This is a quality long seeked and well appreciated by the director who indicated his eagerness to collaborate with GLOBE.
