The site set up stipend has been extended a month! If you are a GLOBE trained teacher in South Dakota, set up a site in in the GLOBE database in preparation for data collection in April to receive a $50 stipend.
The site set up can be for any protocol, even one you are currently doing. The only requirement is that you set up a new site. For example, if you are currently monitoring water quality you can set up an additional site for water quality OR you can add another protocol such as land cover, green up/green down, or soil temperature to your water quality site.
Once you have set up your site, email me (annelewis@sd-discovery.org) to let me know.
Congratulations to Becky Kitts of St Joe's Elementary in Pierre for setting up a soil temperature site!
Looking ahead, in April you can receive a stipend if you take your students outside to collect and report data. You can receive up to $100 ($25 per report).
Data must be entered by Friday May 5.
Hint: Setting up your sites on the computer ahead of time will mean you can use the GLOBE data entry app in the field.
There are multiple GLOBE professional development opportunities this spring and summer.
