Fortunately, I had a great time travelling along the Croatian coast before coming to Fredonia
ANOTHER STORY FROM THE IVSS 2024 IN FREDONIA
I am a member of the DEIA WG and I was supposed to be at the conference too. But a long trip and traveling for 27 hours without sleep took its toll. Instead of the conference, I finished at the hospital with a broken leg.
But my situation was not so bad, I had a lot of people thinking of me and making my stay at the hospital almost comfortable. I must declare that the UCAR and GLOBE people took my DEI situation the best they could and helped me, thinking about me and organizing my trip home.
First of all, I must thank John Ristvey for cheering me up every day even if he had a lot of other things to do. His visits made me feel better and cared for.
Also thanks to John, Simon Castro-Wooldridge, Inken Purvis, Tara Torres, and Christa Cook for organizing my trip home. It was so good that I didn't feel the pain at any moment. And thanks to Mike Jabot who came to visit on Saturday instead of taking a break from the IVSS, Eslam Khair, and Grace Crain for making me feel better with their wishes, as did the DEIA WG members.
And in the end, thanks to everyone who signed on the wish me well message. And thanks to Peggy (hope I remember the name) who sent me a California magnet that is now showing on my fridge!
After my experience, I am sure, as I was before, that everyone in GLOBE is taken care of, and I will continue doing my best with the DEIA WG to fulfill the priorities made at the IVSS 2024.
