Life on earth would not be possible without carbon. Carbon dioxide, which is one of the oxides of carbon is an important gas for life on the planet. It is important for the plants to photosynthesize. Photosynthesis is one of the biological processes that sustains life on earth.
However, the excess of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is also one of the major causes of global warming and climate change, which is a global concern.
Thus, it is important that we reduce our carbon footprint so that we would be able to combat the climate change, globally.
